Brown Chakra
Submitted by Sandhya Manne on August 25, 2011 11:36 PM
“Brown Chakra” is a very intricate piece of artwork created combining watercolors and Zentangle. The brown background gives the artwork an earthy feel, it is the base for elegant and intricate patterns with silver metallic ink. The muddy brown emits a solid wholesome feeling. It also marks the connection with natural earth and the stability it brings. Brown can mix into many surroundings. It is a mixture of red, blue and yellow and has many shades and tones - each producing a different effect.

"Brown Chakra" calls for c
reating a warm, comfortable feeling of wholesomeness, and dependability.
Chakra is a Sanskrit word which means "Circle" or "Wheel". In the Hindu and Buddhist religious traditions the sacred art often takes a Mandala form (Circle form). These mandalas, concentric diagrams, have spiritual and ritual significance in both Buddhism and Hinduism. The term is of Hindu origin and appears in the Rig Veda.
A mandala is employed for focusing attention of aspirants and adepts, as a spiritual teaching tool, for establishing a sacred space, and as an aid to meditation and trance induction. Scientifically, its symbolic nature can help one to access progressively deeper levels of the unconscious, ultimately assisting the meditator to experience a mystical sense of oneness with the ultimate unity from which the cosmos in all its manifold forms arises. It is therefor considered as a representation of the unconscious self and represents the entire universe.
The art is created on Arches watercolor paper , with Brown background in watercolor . The zentangle patterns are created with metallic silver ink. The painting measures 23"x 23" . The watercolor paper has been glued to the plyboard and is ready to Hang.
